Youth Opportunity is an important piece of our impact here at United Way. We want all kids to soar. So, we work with the people who care for them — from families and neighbors, to schools and community agencies — to connect young people with the support they need.
One way we support Youth Opportunity is through our partnership with Youth & Family Services (Y&FS).
For over 50 years, Y&FS has provided life-changing services to youth and families in crisis across Northwest Oklahoma — from emergency shelter and school-based counseling to transitional living, outpatient therapy, and more.
At Y&FS, no child is ever turned away due to inability to pay. Every service is designed to empower, heal, and build stronger futures for every person in our community who needs assistance. For all who enter Y&FS, "hope starts here."
Behind every program is a team of dedicated professionals who meet young people where they are—with compassion, respect, and real solutions. Whether it's a teenager needing a safe place to stay, a student facing mental health challenges, or a young adult working toward independence, Y&FS is there every step of the way.
“Being a United Way Partner Agency allows Youth & Family Services of North Central Oklahoma to extend our reach and deepen our impact for children, youth, and families in need,” Executive Director Hannah Fryer said. “Their support strengthens our ability to provide critical services, ensuring that the most vulnerable in our community receive the care, guidance, and resources they deserve.
