Community Resilience is important to United Way. We want Enid, OK to prosper, so we work with our neighbors to build resilient communities that are more connected, supportive and ready to respond to any challenge. One way we work toward Community Resiliency is through partner agencies like The Salvation Army of Enid.
The Salvation Army of Enid offers social services to support those in need, both spiritually and physically. As a United Way partner agency, we celebrate the Salvation Army’s service to our community.
“We are doing a lot here at the Salvation Army,” Captain David Brittle said. “We want people to know that the money we receive goes directly back into our community. In 2024, 98 percent of our budget went directly to serve those in need.”
For those experiencing homelessness, The Salvation Army is the only shelter covering Grant, Garfield, Major, and Alfalfa counties. The shelter provides meals, clothing, a shower, and a warm bed.
If you or someone you know is in need of services, The Salvation Army is always open at 518 N Independence St. in Enid.
“All services are free,” Brittle said. “We are open seven days a week, 24 hours per day. We’re here and try not to turn anyone away for any reason.”
