United Way of Northwest Oklahoma’s NextGen Fellowship seeks community-minded leaders who are interested in learning about the United Way, the partner agencies, and the impact of its mission-based work in Northwest Oklahoma. Fellows are expected to attend each of the meetings listed below. All meetings will be held in the evening from 6:00-8:00pm at Autry Technology Center, except for the Pillars Dinner and Annual Meeting.
- August 19: United Way Pillars Dinner
- September 2: SESSION 1: Governance and the United Way, But Make it Make Sense. Boards, bylaws, and why nonprofits don’t run on vibes alone.
- October 7: SESSION 2: Who Even is Our Community? Deep dive into local demographics, equality, and being for the people, for real.
- January 6: SESSION 3: Slay the System [Respectfully] Mastering the art of influence, advocacy, and not getting ignored.
- February 3: SESSION 4: Give Me the Money [For a Good Cause, Obviously] Because impact costs, and we’ve got goals.
- March 3: SESSION 5: Civic Engagement: It’s Giving Involved. Showing up sparks change.
- April 23: Graduation during the United Way Annual Meeting [Luncheon]
Prior to program completion, all fellows must complete a one-on-one mentorship at a Partner Agency of their choosing. Optional volunteer opportunities with United Way and the partner agencies will be offered throughout the program to enhance your learning experience. Applications for this fellowship are due July 18, 2025.
