United Way presents Forgotten Ministries with $7,500 for Outreach to Area Communities
Ten years ago God put a desire in Forgotten Ministries’ heart to set out on a venture. They wanted to bring compassion and hope to communities and unite churches from across the state by walking only armed with hammers, nails, paint brushes, grills and a cross; spreading the Good News as they went...and boy, did they, 27 cities in 30 days! Thus, “The Walk” was birthed. From prostitutes, pimps, drug dealers, drug users, to people who never even heard of or seen the love of Jesus in action; God lead them on a journey that transformed hearts.
This June for their 10-year anniversary, Forgotten Ministries will do it again! 14 cities in 30 days helping folks who are struggling during these challenging times. Over 125 community projects are planned. Everything from painting houses to fixing fences and other minor service projects. Because of a $7,500 COVID-19 Community Impact grant from Williams Field Services Group LLC, United Way of NW Oklahoma is able to partner with Forgotten Ministries to help feed the homeless, the shut-ins and the workers in these communities. Through the month June, as Forgotten Ministries begins “The Walk” they may modify what they plan to do in each community. However, regardless of the modifications, the results will speak for themselves. We pray and wish for a blessed journey! God Bless!
