The United Way of Enid and Northwest Oklahoma and all its member and partner agencies are focused on outcome measurements. We strive to make a measureable impact in our community and the people that live, work, and visit. Over the past year the United Way and its partners have had all these successes thanks to your generous donations.
- Treatment programs that eliminated substance abuse and improved functioning in 667 individuals
- Reduced juvenile delinquency recidivism in 88% of youth served
- Provided safe shelter to 100% of domestic violence and sexual assault victims seeking services. After counseling and services 82% did not return to the abuser.
- Mobile Meals program provided 117 adults with food and visitation, increasing nutrition and reducing depression and loneliness
- 952 retired residents volunteered. increasing physical activity and providing valuable services to the community in the process
- Over 1,000 Girl Scouts and 7,000 Boy Scouts in the region increased self-esteem, confidence, and physical activity levels
- provided assistance to 450 acutely ill people, allowing 90% to return to prior health (no further need of treatment)
- Prevented hunger & homelessness to 1800 individuals/families through food, shelter, clothing, utility and rental assistance
- Over 3,000 needy children received Christmas presents through the Coordinated Christmas Campaign
- 1225 children learned to swim
- 48 units of affordable housing were developed
- helped 86% of dislocated workers (2,502 individuals) find new employment
- increased communication and hearing abilities for 1,200 children and adults
- Responded to 28 local disasters, helped 132 families and 490 individuals last year.
- Trained 50 individuals to recognize the signs & symptoms of child abuse, increasing the likelihood of early detection and intervention.
- 95% of children interviewed at the Child Advocacy house reported feeling safe and comfortable increasing the effectiveness of investigations and decreasing trauma to the child.
- Helped 422 people become debt free
